Amber through the Looking Glass - W Niven
I like the idea but there are too many other distractions, I would like to have seen more of amber and less of the surroundings. Zoom in to the subject and lighten her up.

Bridge over the burn - B Gillespie
This is a competent sharp image, unfortunately it is a bit flat, using curves to get a little contrast in the image would make a difference. It lacks something on the bridge to give a point of interest.

Capturing the Image - P Learmont
The Routin Bridge I suspect, a slow shutter to get the water to flow. The tripod and camera in the corner add nothing to the image. Crop the light sky out the top and get contrast into the rocks and foliage.

Across the Bay - A McNay
This image has had a treatment on it which makes it very grainy. I can detect the shore, sea and something at the other side that reminds me of Silloth. It is very black and white, I would like to have more detail visible.

Coversation over Tea - J Harkness
An interesting tea party and the one lady having contact with the photographer. The blacks are blocked, and the white flowers are distracting. Unfortunately, it is not sharp.

Crichton memorial church - B Gillespie
Good record shot of the church but it seems to lack mid tones and the sky has no detail.

Fish Shack - A McNay
The shack is interesting, If the photographer had taken the image of the shack alone it would have been a stronger image. A it is there is no focal point and the top left corner is burnt out. It needs a little contrast.

Hoopla - W Hiddleston
Action with the movement in the hoop. And the sharp figure too many distractions in the background and at the foot. I would like to have seen the eyes open.

I'm OK - J Harkness
Well seen and I like the angle it has been taken. This image needs contrast to bring out the detail in the hand.

Innocence - J Glynn
2nd Place
Lovely portrait with detail in the hair and a catchlight in the eyes. The background is a little distracting and I don’t think you need so much on the left.

Lighting The Shade - W Niven
Commended
Good idea lots of detail but do we need all 3 lit up? The centre one with the six around it would make it stronger, perhaps in a square format.

Just a Laugh - W Hiddleston
Lots of detail in the image a bit too tight in the frame and unfortunately the most important place, the faces are not sharp.

Lismore Lighthouse - J Glynn
1st Place
Beautiful image with a good range of blacks to white. I like the lighthouse reflection.

Linn Falls - B Gillespie
Highly Commended
Good movement in the falls pity the tree was in front of it. Darken the trees in the left top corner and the stones at the front to make a stronger image.

Lookin back in History - P Learmont
A dramatic view to the ruin and the figure captures the scale of the building, there are no mid tones which makes the image flat. Add contrast but be careful not to lose the sky.

Magic Moment - P Learmont
I like the light in the centre of this image crop it into a panoramic image. It could have got up into the top set.

Mother's Love - J Glynn
A tender moment with the sleeping child. I would like to have seen a bit more of the child’s face, as it is the dress lacks detail in the white and the mother is blending into the black background.

Old Harbour Boat Tie - A Stuart
Lots of detail in the boat tie and in the stone wall, the image need contrast to bring out that detail. The white sky in the top right corner is distracting crop it out.

Rooftops Over London - W Niven
A good sharp image with lots of detail, however the buildings are too dark, lightening them up will bring out the detail, but the sky needs to be left as is.

Silhouette - A McNay
This image is very black and white, perhaps if it was cropped to a square to lessen the black it may be stronger, unfortunately it is blending into the background and isn’t sharp.

St Anne's Peir - W Hiddleston
3rd Place
Good sky and pier, the hut on the right is blocked with black and some of the people, take out the people at the front, this image needs a focal point on the sand like a donkey?

Throwing Up Dirt - J Harkness
A good action shot with dirt flying, look at your levels there is no white in the image, lighten it up and it will look sharper.

Still Touching - A Stuart
There is lots of detail in the rocks just waiting to be brought out, add a bit of contrast and the rock will jump out at you.
